After a long time coming i can finally reveal my ongoing project of further documenting my creative process, now on YouTube. A while back i started to record while painting and i can now actually compose those recordings into something usable. Combining those files and adding a time-lapse to speed up the process results in a “speed painting”. The idea is to give people some insight into the creation of my paintings. Perhaps just to entertain a few but hopefully also to inspire other artists as myself. As i am always struggling and still learning every day i invite you to come along for the ride.
This time i am also trying something new with monetization to actually be able to earn a revenue of the things i create. This of course means that commercial ads will be shown in relation to my creations. No one likes annoying ads but it’s a crucial component for a struggling artist as myself. Time will tell if it’s a worthwhile endeavor or a waste of time. I have no big expectations but you really need to start somewhere, and this is it. If you would like to support my cause, please disable AdBlock for my site and videos and perhaps click a link or two. I appreciate all support!
First out is a video of painting number 39 called Cold Blaze. I would have liked to had this ready from the start with the first painting, but there was just too many things to work out before it was all up and running. I spent a great deal of time on researching tools and ways to compose all these elements into a complete video. I feel i now have a good setup and workflow to start producing these videos at a faster pace.
With this project i also got the opportunity to create some intros for both Gurkoz Productions and Gurkoz Canvas that turned out pretty good. They are ten seconds each and hopefully not too intrusive for people watching the videos. For these intros i actually managed to record some basic sounds / music to go along. I was planning to create fully featured tracks of music to use during the main video but that turned out to be harder than i imagined. The truth of it is that i am no musician and it would take considerable time to be able to produce anything usable. A placeholder for now are the royalty-free tracks from YouTube and time will tell if i will compose anything of my own in the future. Had some other ideas with adding a commentary to each video but that will have to wait also.
Sadly, these first videos are not complete and only shows the mid to finish part of the painting. From this going forward though, i will always record the entire process start to finish. There still is a few things left to iron out so bear with me during this time.
Stay tuned for more videos on previous paintings until i catch up with the current last posted one.
Update
I have now added more videos and created a playlist!
